Wooden handcarved and handpainted Lord Ganesha figurine with flower Tealight holder.  In India Lord Ganesha is a great symbol of Intelligency and prosperity.

Ganesha is the elephant head god.  He became a Lord or (Isha) of all living beings after winning a bet with his brother Karthikay.  There are many stories on how Ganesha gets his elephant head.  There are several things to take note of when examining a sculpture of Ganesha.  Ganesha rides a rat which represents the conquered demons of vanity and impertinence.  The snakes in the left hand represents the control of the poisons of the passions.  The conch in the right hand  represents the sound that creates Akash.  The hatchet cuts away the stranglehold of desires.  The mudra grants fearlessness.  Finally the broken tusk is the one with which Ganesha wrote the Mahabaratha.   Keep this Tea light every time in front of you at your office table or study table.
