Red Year of Release : 2001 Cast : Ajit Kumar, Priya Gill, Vinthiya, Manivannan, Raguvaran, Revathy, Charlie Music : Deva Direction : Ram Sathya Red breathes fire at this injustice and destroys Srini. He conducts "local courts" to mete out justice and help the needy. Ajit tries hard but you cannot help laughing whenever he tries to flex his muscles. Ajit should realise that with his personality, he cannot carry out "Godfather" roles. Red is in love with Gayathri (Priya Gill) the daughter of Manivannan, who is a "sundal" seller. He finances her education and helps her brother become a cricket player in the Ranji league (let it not be said that our screenplay writers lack in imagination!). Srini made a comeback and so he does - in cahoots with the Police Commissioner (Rajeev). They exact revenge on Red who goes to jail. Red, on coming out of jail, is thirsting for revenge. In a series of mindless violence, Srini is burnt alive and Red is blamed for it. Enter Manimeghala and Raghuvaran (the editor of the mag) to extricate Red out of the jam and palm off Gayathri's hand to Red and so thank God, the film comes to an end.
