Jore Year of Release : 2004 Cast : Sathiyaraj, Shibiraj, Bhanupriya, Gajala Music : Deva Direction : Selva Producer : Sharath Babu The father-son duo,Sathyaraj and Sibiraj, come together on the screen again in the film, 'JOre', a typical 'masala' film with action, revenge and romance. The story is a predictable one of an influential evil local politician, the daughter, who is in love with the hero of the film who wants to end the reign crime unleashed by the devil politician. Sathyaraj's performance is the only saving grace of the entire film. Sibiraj is back after his debut in Student No. 1. He plays the son of Sathyaraj. His role demands a bit of comedy this time and he has done a barely passable job. Actress Gajala, who is cast as his lady love, has nothing much to do but for a couple of romantic numbers. Kotta Srinivasa Rao, who played the villain in Saamy, dons the role of the influential politician who sends shivers down the spine of the villagers. Interestingly, it is Sathyaraj and Vadivelu who provide relief to the audience in the movie. Thanks to his mannerisms and improvisations, Sathyaraj evokes applause whenever he comes on screen. Vadivelu, who plays Sathyaraj's servant, in an attempt to evoke laughter goes overboard with his 'double meaning' dialogues. Bhanupriya, Ramana, Thambi Ramiah and Sharmili are also in the cast. Deva's music falls flat. Indeed, director Selvah has delivered nothing new. The film has an oft-repeated theme and a predictable screenplay minus novelty. Joot Tamil DVD Junior Senior Tamil DVD
