It is inspired by Rajinikanthâ€™s film â€˜Baashaâ€™. The director has also taken scenes from other mass films but that failed to lift the overall spirit of the film. Hero Prashanth plays the role of an angry young man who takes on the anti-social elements with all his might. Velan (Prashanth) is the son of a village landlord (Vijayakumar). The villagers adore him for his good work. However, he gets the shock of his life when Vijayakumar tells him that he is his foster son. He sets out to know his past. He goes to Chennai and learns that a dreaded gangster Deva (Fefsi Vijayan) had killed all the members of his family. The truth is Vijayakumar adopted him after he loses memory following head injury. Now, he sets out to kill Deva and his gang. He starts killing rowdies in the society by bearing the name Jambavan. The rest of the film is on how he does away with the killers of his family. Prashanth has tried his best to lift the film to a secure position but in vain. Meghna Naidu and Nila had succeeded in pumping in glamour into the film. Noted Classical vocalist T N Seshagopalan plays Prashanth's father in the film and Vivek plays a small role. However, the film has failed to live up to the expectations of the people.
