Pharmacology :
Bacopa monnieri (Brahmi):-It helps improve alertness and has a calming effect without sedating. It has been reported that bacosides A and B enhance protein kinase activity and new protein synthesis especially in those parts of cerebrum associated with long term memory and consequently enhancement of recall levels and learning.
Clinical Information :
Indications: Alertness
Dosage: One capsule twice a day. Discuss the supplements and medication you take with your health care provider.
Mode Of Action :Enhances the body’s antioxidant defenses (increases superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPX) activities) Maintains the structural and functional integrity of the mitochondrial membrane (by inhibiting excessive lipid peroxidation & creatine kinase, improving the activities of ATPases, and maintaining the ionic equilibrium.), increased tolerance of the brain toward hypoxia and ischemia.
